Dave’s Faves for January

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate Alicia Keys Limited Edition – for Keep A Child Alive

Grammy-winning musician Alicia Keys lends her name to a special limited edition bottle of Kiehl’s best-selling Midnight Recovery Concentrate. Keys is the co-founder and global ambassador for the charity that provides treatment, love & support to families affected by HIV/AIDS. This organization provides life-saving AIDS medicine and surrounding care to children and families in Africa and India. A portion of proceeds from the sale of this product will benefit the charity.

products300x200Michael Kors Bath and Body

January is the month when you often want to enjoy a long soak in a hot tub.  Michael Kors adds some glamour to the ritual with sexy, shimmer bath beads that turns the water a soft gold colour. It leaves a light, golden shimmer. The sumptuous Luxe Body Crème pampers skin leaving it soft and hydrated.

Clarins Hydrating Masks

French beauty brand Clarins is the number one prestige skincare brand in Europe. It’s renowned for its botanical formulas that feel luxurious on the skin. And one of the brand’s strengths is its face masks. In just 10 minutes, these masks nourish and soothe winter-ravaged skin thanks to shea butter & mango oil. I also recommend to load up on the sunscreen if you are skiing. The sun is stronger at higher elevations. Best protect from UV damage!

Prada Infusion d’Iris

Iris is a fragrance note you are going to see a lot of in 2014. It’s in many of the major perfume launches to come. What is interesting about iris or orris as it is sometimes called is that the scent doesn’t come from the flower. An absolute oil is extracted from the iris bulb that is warm and sweet. And roots must be aged three to five years. It’s a very expensive ingredient. Prada has one of the best known Iris lines called Infusion d’Iris.

Guerlain Spring Collection

Spring 2014 beauty collections start arriving in store mid-January and here is a sneak peek from Guerlain. There is a big pink colour trend for early spring. You’ll see a whole range of pink hues from blush to fuchsia – all layered and blended.

Anna Sui Flight of Fancy

Sometimes, in the middle of winter, you want a beautiful new fragrance bottle to cheer you up. And this elaborate fragrance from New York designer Anna Sui fits the bill. It is inspired by a peacock. The scent is a light fruity-floral.
