Dave’s Faves for July

Marc Jacobs Pink Honey Edition, 50 ml, $80

Marc Jacobs offers Honey fans a limited edition for summer 2014. Called “Pink Honey,” this fragrance is described as a luscious fruity-floral scent for her containing notes of fruit punch, pear, mandarin, orange blossom, peach nectar, honeysuckle, golden vanilla, honey and soft woods. It’s housed in a soft pink bottle accented with dots and butterflies.

shu uemura drawing pencils, 18 shades, $28 each

One of the biggest beauty trends to emerge in 2014 is graphic eye makeup. Pro artists are using liners, pencils and wet shadows to create interesting designs and shapes around the eye. Japanese artistry brand shu uemura has launched a collection of 18 drawing pencils in rainbow of shades that offer long wear and soft texture. The easiest way to use them is to line the lower lash line with a pop of colour.

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Summer Editions, $77 & $89

This month, Italian designers Dolce & Gabbana offer you an olfactory vacation to the Aeolian islands in front of Sicily. Escape to Panarea for her and Discover Vulcano for him are limited edition fragrances inspired by these Mediterranean vacation destinations.

“Panarea is the island of love. Here, summer nights are lit by a thousand candles, spent on terraces overlooking the glittering blue waters, with the feeling that you are suspended in time, between sea and the stars,” says Stephano Gabbana.

“When you walk on the crater of Vulcano, you feel the power of nature and its pulsating and profound intensity, even though it is dormant for now. It is not just a vacation on a breathtakingly beautiful island, but a journey full of great discoveries,” adds Domenico Dolce.

Good quality sunscreens, $34 to $48

The best anti-aging skincare product you can buy is broad spectrum sunscreen. We talk a lot about this on Cityline. That’s because 85% of the signs of skin aging are due to sun damage over the years. With the sun’s rays at their strongest this month, double up on your sun protection with good quality sunscreens. Make sure they say UVA/UVB protection on the box and don’t go lower than SPF30.

Dior One Essential Intense Skin Detoxifying Booster Serum, $105

If your summer vacation plans include a spa visit and detox, you might want to consider Dior’s One Essential. The formula is based on 19 years of research and 10 global patents and helps rid itself of toxins. Red hibiscus extract helps reinvigorate the cells’ elimination process.
